INTA ARRIVES IN SINGAPORE
We’re bummed we aren’t attending INTA this year; Singapore is fantastic! The conference begins on the 16th of May and wraps up on the 20th. If you’re going, definitely check out the Chili Crab, and also don’t bring your chewing gum – the first offense is 500 to 1000 USD..
With over 7,000 registrants and hundreds of vendors, there should be plenty of opportunities to network during the conference or the planned private events. We’ve known some attendees that skipped all the sessions and only focused on winning the party circuit – but we won’t name any names or tell their bosses. 🥂🥂
If you’re stuck at home like us, there will be a virtual version of INTA, June 27 – 29; perhaps you can get Chili Crab through Grubhub.
MORE FEE INCREASES PLANNED FOR THE US
This week, the USPTO published its intention to raise Trademark fees, stating, “Lower than expected demand is coinciding with changes to trademark filing and renewal patterns, resulting in some imbalances in the overall fee structure.” If you have some free time, a public hearing is scheduled for June 5th.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the proposed increases:
Basic Electronic Application Per Class: From 250 to 350 USD
Electronic Statement of Use Per Class: From 100 to 150 USD
Electronic §9 Declaration, Per Class: From 225 to 300 USD
Electronic §9 Registration Renewal Application, Per Class: From 300 to 350 USD Letter of Protest: From 50 to 250 USD
