April Showers Bring.. IP Conferences!

Speaking in front of crowd at IP conferences

April doesn’t have as many large IP conferences as we saw in March. Still, there are plenty of options for IP professionals looking to network and catch up on the latest news (Unitary Patent and ChatGPT, anyone?).

Here are a few of the major IP conferences in April:

AM Live: IP and Emerging Technology EuropeApril 19th, London

This conference will connect over 100 industry-leading corporate executives, dealmakers, and legal professionals to discuss how best to protect innovation and achieve its value in an age of high-tech revolution and technology convergence.

7th European Intellectual Property Forum (EIPF)April 27th & 28th, Berlin

This is the largest leadership-level IP conference dedicated to bringing together a diverse set of audiences from all over the world, including IP experts, owners, and investors, to discuss and find solutions for key issues and operational challenges faced by corporations and IP professionals today.

Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) 2023 – April 30th – May 2nd, Montreal

The theme for LESI2023 is leveraging Intellectual Property to enable innovation and creativity for an inspired future. Through keynote speakers and panel discussions with industry experts from around the world, LESI2023 discussions will focus on the role of intellectual property in accelerating investment and commercialization of technology and creative works globally.

Amendments to Hague rule 14 enter into force April 1

The amendments to Rule 14 allow the International Bureau to “invite” applicants to pay at least the basic fee for one design before starting its examination. This will help improve service delivery by focusing examination on cases where fees have been paid. Hmm, it sounds like someone got tired of frivolous applications.
