USPTO E-OFFICE ACTION PROGRAM ROLLOUT

On April 12th, all current Private PAIR e-Office Action participants will be migrated to the USPTO’s Patent Center e-Office Action program.

No action is required on the part of IP owners or applicants, but the USPTO is changing the email address used to send e-Office Action notifications – so you may need to update your SPAM filters.

Notifications will come from noreply@uspto.gov, and it is recommended that you add this address and the uspto.gov domain to your safe sender list.

USPTO SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON E-POSTCARDS

In addition to the e-Office action rollout, the USPTO is offering a new option for users to receive courtesy postcards by email (e-postcards) as a reminder that there are available USPTO communications that have not been viewed or downloaded.

The USPTO is implementing this oddly named option based on feedback from customers and hopes to reduce paper consumption and mitigate the impact of potential postal delays.

The USPTO is seeking public comment on eliminating the postal postcard for all Patent Center e-Office Action program users in the future. So, let ’em know what you think.

  • 941 Swiss francs (“large entity”), or 377 CHF (“small entity”), or 188 CHF (“micro entity”) for the first part when designating the US, and

  • 683 Swiss francs (“large entity”), or 273 CHF (“small entity”), or 137 CHF (“micro entity”) for the second part.
