PROPOSED CHINESE TRADEMARK CHANGES
On January 13th, CNIPA began soliciting public feedback on proposed Trademark changes in China. Major updates include:
- Increased proof of use requirements
- More scrutiny over bad-faith marks
- Broadened infringement protection
- Prohibition of duplicate marks
The feedback period closes on Feb 27.
FEE UPDATES
Madrid Protocol Fees – Effective March 1:
- Norway Applications: 280 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 72 Swiss francs for each additional class when designating Norway in an international application or subsequently.
- Norway Registrations: 251 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 97 Swiss francs for each additional class when renewing an international registration in which Norway has been designated.
