HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It’s been a pretty slow week in the IP world, but things will kick off quickly after the new year, including the first group of winter conferences.
Here’s what is scheduled for January:
AIPLA Mid-Winter Institute: San Diego, Jan 31
IIPLA 2023: Dubai, Jan 23
The 2023 Sedona Conference on Global IP Litigation: London, Jan 9
ACPC Winter Meeting: Phoenix, Jan 22
MOLDOVA’S EPC INVITE
Moldova has been invited to accede to the European Patent Convention (EPC), which would make it the 40th contracting state to the EPC.
Moldova and the EPO will work to enact the necessary legislation and administrative protocols – no official timeline is available yet.
FEE UPDATES
Hague Designation Fees – Effective January 1:
Canada Applications: 316 Swiss francs (CHF) per design included in an international application; and
Canada Renewals: 276 CHF per design included when renewing an international registration for the first time.
Hungary Applications/Renewals: 47 CHF for the first design included in either an international application or a request for renewal and 11 CHF for each additional design.
