Our trademark cost estimator now has the same capability to anonymize law firm fees as patents. When you export to PDF, Word, or Excel, toggling the anonymize switch on will replace your foreign associate name with a generic description of “Foreign Firm Fee.”

The USPTO updates last week required several changes to trademark forecasting. We’ve removed the TEAS transmission method option and default to electronic now. The USPTO also added several new fees, which can be accessed in a new US-specific section in the upper right section of the screen.

Uploading a portfolio and mapping the correct fields can sometimes be challenging when planning patent costs using Client Planner.

We’ve enhanced the mapping screen so it’s easy to know what is in your Excel file and what Prokurio expects. Additionally, we’ve added an Import Samples column to show you example data from your spreadsheet.

Previously, any service charges you added would apply to all filing routes. We’ve now added a filing routes dropdown so you can choose which filing route(s) apply to the charge.

For example, now you can have one service charge for direct filings and another for national or regional filings.

Client Planner docket planning has been simplified for ease of use. Toggles for “Most Recent” and “Projected” activities allow quick filtered views of your data. Additionally, you can view a matter’s docket history and projected costs by clicking on the clock icon in the cost timeline column.

Lately, we’ve encountered PTO documents that only contained images, making it impossible to extract the text. We’ve enhanced our algorithm to instantly detect and ocr these PDFs in real-time to ensure that you get accurate word counts for your forecasts.

We’ve added dynamic country selection capabilities to Trademark Forecaster. If you select the EUIPO from any country dropdown list, the system automatically removes the 27 EU member countries from options to choose, as well as if any previously selected were loaded, making it a breeze to get the proper results.

Previously, if you needed to forecast remaining costs on Trademarks filed many years ago, IP Forecaster provided all historical renewal fees. We’ve updated the algorithm to now roll forward to future renewals in the results, providing clear and precise costs remaining for the mark.

We’ve updated our publication retrieval mechanism to give you what you want when you need it. Retrieval has been split into two steps. If only claim counts, pages and dates are needed, simply enter your number and click the Retrieve button. In instances where more accurate translation costs are required, clicking on the OCR & Count Words button activates application OCR and the system will fill in the word count on the Translation Optimizer tab.

IP Forecaster: TM Madrid/National Comparison Forecasts

Ever wanted to quickly and easily get a cost comparison for a Trademark filing between going Madrid or the National filing route? Our Trademark clients will love this update! When running a Madrid forecast in IP Forecaster, just toggle the Madrid/National Compare switch on after selecting your countries and your forecast results will split into a side-by-side comparison giving you the cost breakdown of each, which can then be exported for sharing.

As a result of feedback from several client’s, we’ve added a new bulk upload option for Recordal costs like mass assignments, change of address, etc. If you have a spreadsheet of countries and recordal counts for each, just click upload, approve the column mapping and IP Forecaster will instantly add all the countries and enter the recordal numbers for each saving you time and effort on the project.

IP Forecaster: Add National Filings to Madrid Forecasts

In Trademarks since Madrid filings don’t cover every country in the world, we had clients having to run separate Madrid and National filing forecasts and combine them after export. To make these scenarios easier, we’ve now added an Append National Forecast toggle to the Madrid forecast request screen. Now, you can simply get combined filing type costs in your results for export into PDF, Word or Excel.

Client Planner: Custom Label Configurations

Understanding not all terms are the same for our different firms and corporate IP groups, we’ve added a new Planner Layout screen in setup that will allow our clients to take Prokurio’s standard labels and substitute their own. You can also choose to remove items that are not used by simply unchecking the include checkbox.
