Italy and EPO PCT Patent Fee Updates

We’ve seen a surprisingly small number of patent fee updates this fall, and most of the changes have been minor inflationary adjustments in PCT or Madrid costs. This week is no exception, with a few minor updates for Italy and the EPO, courtesy of the weekly PCT Applicant’s Guide update.

Updated Italy PCT Patent Fees

Highlights of the Italy Updates:

  • In Annex C: Receiving Office
    • The online fee for requesting restoration of the right of priority increased from EUR 15 to EUR 16. 
    • The online fee for Tax for filing of power of attorney has been reduced from EUR 20 to EUR 16.
    • The online fee for Tax for request for re-establishment of rights increased from EUR 15 to EUR 16. 
    • The online fee for Tax for restoration of the right of priority increased from EUR 15 to EUR 16.

Updated European Patent Organization PCT Patent Fees

Highlights of the EPO Updates:

  • In Annex D: International Searching Authorities
    • The online fee for Search Fees paid in ISK will be reduced from ISK 271000 to ISK 255000.
