Russia, EP, and OAPI Hague Design Fee Updates Coming

Hague Design fees don’t change very often, but this week, we received notification of updates coming in January for Russia, the European Union, and OAPI.

Let’s see what’s changing!

Russian Federation Hague Design Fees Updated Effective January 2024

WIPO announced fee updates for international applications in which Russian Federation is designated, and updates to the fees for the international registrations designating Israel will be reduced with effect from January 1, 2024:

  • The fee for each design included in an international application will be reduced from 138 Swiss Francs to 107 Swiss Francs.
  • First renewal:  Fees will be reduced from 219 Swiss Francs to 170 Swiss francs for each design.
  • Second renewal:  Fees will be reduced from 538 Swiss Francs to 417 Swiss francs for each design.
  • Third renewal:  Fees will be reduced from 800 Swiss Francs to 620 Swiss francs for each design.
  • Fourth renewal:  Fees will be reduced from 1392 Swiss Francs to 1079 Swiss francs for each design.

European Union Hague Design Fees Updated Effective January 2024

Hague Design

WIPO announced fee updates for international applications for European Union, which will be reduced from January 1, 2024:

  • Fees for each design included in an international application will be reduced from 67 Swiss Francs to 59 Swiss Francs.
  • The renewal fee for each design will be reduced from 34 Swiss Francs to 30 Swiss Francs.

African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) Hague Design Fees Updated Effective January 2024

WIPO announced fee updates for international applications for African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), which will be reduced from January 1, 2024:

  • International application fees for a single deposit will be reduced from 83 Swiss francs to 73 Swiss Francs. Also, for a multiple deposit, the fee will be reduced from 124 Swiss Francs to 110 Swiss Francs.
  • The renewal fee for each design will be reduced from 190 Swiss Francs to 168 Swiss Francs.
