India Patent Fee Updates Effective from March 15, 2024
The Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2024, and the Patent (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024 took effect on March 15, 2024.
Important Updates:
- Revised Due Date for Request for Examination: The deadline for filing a Request for Examination has been reduced from 48 months to 31 months from the earliest priority date.
- 10% reduction in renewal fees: If paid in advance, electronically, for at least 4 years.
- Reduced frequency of filing statements of working patents: From once a financial year to once every three financial years.
Egypt PCT Fee Updates Effective from June 1, 2024
In Annex D – International Searching Authorities:
- The Search Fee for Egypt will decrease from 110 CHF to 76 CHF.
- The Search Fee for Egypt will decrease from 123 EUR to 78 EUR.
- The Search Fee for Egypt will decrease from 129 USD to 84 USD.
