Japan Updates Individual Fees for Madrid Trademark Filings

Japan has confirmed changes to its individual fees under the Madrid Protocol, affecting international applications, subsequent designations, and renewals. The changes take effect on April 12, 2026.

Application Fees
The individual fees for applications and subsequent designations are set to decrease:

  • Standard marks (one class): from CHF 266 to CHF 211

  • Each additional class: from CHF 250 to CHF 208

Renewal Fees
Renewal fees will decrease as follows:

  • Standard marks (per class): from CHF 263 to CHF 218
