Updated PCT Patent Fees For October and November

A Busy Week of PCT Updates

The PCT Applicant’s Guide was the only source of updated patent fees this week. None of the changes are going to break your budget, they are all minor inflationary adjustments. 

China PCT Patent Fees Updated Effective November 1

Highlights of the China Updates:

  • In Annex C: Receiving Office, the international filing fee increases from CNY 10,350 to CNY 10,920.
  • Electronic filing (the request in character-coded format) increases from CNY 1,560 to CNY 1,640.
  • Electronic filing (the request, description, claims, and abstract in character-coded format) increases from CNY 2,340 to CNY 2,460.
  • In Annex E – International Preliminary Examining Authority, the handling fee (PCT Rule 57.1) increases from CNY 1,560 to  CNY 1,640.

European Patent Organization PCT Updates Effective November 1

  • In Annex D: International Searching Authority
    • The search fee decreases from ISK 271,000 to ISK 255,000.

Eurasian Patent Organization PCT Updates Effective October 1

Highlights of the Eurasian Patent Organization Updates:

  • In Annex D: International Searching Authority
    • Searches carried out in Russian decreases from CHF 98 to CHF 86.
    • Searches carried out in English decreases from CHF 435 to CHF 382.

Nordic Patent Institute PCT Patent Fees Updated Effective November 1

Highlights of the Nordic Patent Institute Updates:

  • In Annex D: International Searching Authority
    • The search fee decreases from ISK 271,000 to ISK 255,000.

Russian Federation PCT Updates Effective October 1

Highlights of the Russian Federation Updates:

  • In Annex D: International Searching Authority
    • Searches carried out in Russian decrease from CHF 92 to CHF 81.
    • Searches carried out in English decrease from CHF 435 to CHF 382.
  • In Annex SISA – International Searching Authority

    • The supplementary search fee decreases from CHF 128 to 113 CHF

    • Where a declaration referred to in PCT Article 17(2)(a) has been made by the International Searching Authority because of subject matter referred to in PCT Rule 39.1(iv), the fee decreases from CHF 205 to CHF 180.

Sweden PCT Patent Fees Updated Effective October 1

Highlights of the Sweden Updates:

  • In Annex C: Receiving Office, the international filing fee increases from SEK 15,010 to SEK 15,840.
  • The fee per sheet over 30 increases from SEK 170 to SEK 180.
  • Electronic filing (the request in character-coded format) increases from SEK 2,260 to SEK 2,380.
  • Electronic filing (the request, description, claims, and abstract in character-coded format) increases from SEK 3,390 to SEK 3,570.
  • In Annex E – International Preliminary Examining Authority, the handling fee (PCT Rule 57.1) increases from SEK 2,260 to SEK 2,380.
