As every patent owner knows, patent fees are constantly changing around the world. Part of our mission is to help you control your IP costs, so we’ll provide updates when there are important fee changes. This month, we catch up on the key elements of the recently implemented EPO fee increases.
The most recent EPO fee increases were announced in January and have taken effect as of April 1. If you would like the full details, you can find the publication here: EPO Fee Increase.
Note: Between now and October, any payments which are made on time, but at the older rate, can be corrected by paying the difference within two months of notification by the patent office.
To make it easier to understand what’s changed, we’ve included the prior fees which were in effect since 2020.
