Managing Your Trademark Renewal Provider in Next Generation Forecasting

If a renewal service provider, such as CPA Global or Dennemeyer, administers your trademark renewals, set them up here. This includes their per-event fee, what they cover, and their per-country agent charges. Patent annuity providers have their own page.

  • In the top-left icon rail, click the gear icon to open Settings.
    Next Gen Settings Icon
  • Click Trademark Renewal Provider.Trademark Renewal Provider
  • Under Provider, enter the provider’s own service fee, applied per trademark maintenance event it administers.
    • Provider name: Enter the name of your renewal service provider, for example CPA Global.
    • Billing currency: Select the currency this provider invoices you in. This applies to the fee above and to every agent fee below, since the provider bills you in one currency no matter which local agent did the work. Changing it re-labels those amounts; they are not converted. Costs are converted to your reporting currency when they’re shown.
    • Fee per event: Enter the provider’s fee per event, in the billing currency you selected.
  • Under Who pays what, indicate for each kind of trademark maintenance event whether the provider administers it and charges the fee above, or whether you handle it yourself:
    • Renewals (National trademarks): Choose Provider or You. National renewals are the provider’s by default; the country list at the bottom of the page is where you carve out the ones it doesn’t administer.
    • Renewals (Madrid/WIPO international registrations): Choose Provider or You.
    • Use/declaration filings (Any country, including US Section 8/Section 15 and SOU, Philippines DAU, and similar): Choose Provider or You. This is a single choice covering every country, Madrid included.
    • The fee amounts themselves come from your country fee schedules (or IPMS fee mappings), not this screen.
  • Under Agent fees by country, enter the per-country agent charges for renewals and, where applicable, use/declaration filings. Renewal providers usually work through a local agent whose charge is passed on to you. The countries in your trademark portfolio are listed here, showing what the provider will be paying on.
    • Where you know a charge, enter it. It replaces the estimated firm fee for that kind of event, and the provider fee is added on top.
    • Enter 0 if the provider pays/files directly, with no agent charge.
    • Leave a box blank if the arrangement is unknown; the firm/baseline estimate stays in place.
    • Click Add a country outside the portfolio if you need to add one that isn’t already listed.
  • Under Provider does not pay in, search for and check any countries where this provider does not administer renewals, meaning the client pays directly or a different associate does. In those countries, the renewal falls back to your normal law-firm/associate fees, and the provider fee is not applied. Leave this empty if the provider pays everywhere.
  • Click Save to apply your changes.Trademark Renewal Provider 2
