In addition to standard trademark forecasts, IP Forecaster allows you to quickly and easily forecast Madrid Protocol costs. You can easily filter costs for applications, subsequent designations, or renewals for trademarks, collective marks, and certification marks.
Let’s generate a Madrid Protocol application forecast for a mark with an origin in the US and contracting parties in France and Germany, with 3 classes.
- From your Homepage at the top under Create a New Forecast, click the button labeled Trademarks. Then select Madrid Forecaster. This will take you directly to the Madrid Protocol Forecast Request screen.

- From the Madrid Forecast Request screen, under Office of Origin/Contracting Party of the Holder, select United States. You can type to narrow down the country list, then either use the arrow keys and hit Enter, or click the country to select it.
- Then, under Contracting Parties, select Italy and Germany.
- Enter 3 for Number of Classes.
- Lastly, to the right of the screen under settings, are the report currency, mark type, color option checkbox, and forecast type settings. Let’s keep the defaults.
- Click on the Create Forecast button to generate your forecast at the bottom of the screen.
Note: This is a real-time forecast, so any changes at the top of your screen will auto-refresh the results below.

- The results are generated with the total amounts by country and the grand total. Clicking the arrow next to the countries expands those sections to show additional details.

- Additionally, you can save, export, and/or email Madrid Protocol costs in PDF, Word, or Excel formats.
